Today we’re announcing that H&H Pool Services has joined Cabana. If you’ve been around the pool industry in Northern California for any length of time, you know the name. Dave Hawes started H&H in the East Bay in the early 70s, and for more than 50 years the company has served homeowners from Newark and Fremont across most of the greater Bay Area. There are very few independent pool companies anywhere with that kind of track record.
Dave himself is one of the most respected people in this trade. He served as President and CFO of the Independent Pool and Spa Service Association, has been a director of the Pool Industry Expo, and still teaches seminars several times a year on customer service and profitability. He grew up in the pool business and spent five decades building a company known for technical depth, especially in Pentair and Jandy equipment, and for customer relationships that span generations.
That’s exactly why this partnership matters to us. Our whole thesis is that pool care is a fragmented, under-modernized industry, and the way to serve it well is to professionalize it: better tools, real training, and genuine career paths for the people in the field. Dave has been proving a version of that same idea for 50 years through disciplined operations and a relentless focus on developing his technicians. We didn’t need to convince him that quality and craft are the foundation of a durable service business. He wrote that playbook decades ago.
Dave was clear from the start that any partnership had to reflect the attention to detail and quality workmanship H&H has maintained for five decades. That bar is why this deal happened. Our job now is straightforward: support the H&H team, keep the standard Dave set, and give everyone room to grow.
For our customers, this expands Cabana’s presence across the Bay Area and adds serious service and repair expertise to the bench. For the H&H team, it means new tools, more resources, and a bigger platform for the careers they’ve built. And for the industry, it’s another proof point that established, owner-led companies have a real home here.
