Damaged elements
Holes or tears in cartridge pleats or DE grids cannot be cleaned away. Inspection separates collected debris from damage that needs replacement parts.

Leaks at the filter
An O-ring, fitting and filter tank require different repairs. Do not tighten a clamp on a pressurized filter; trapped pressure can make opening or servicing it dangerous.

Pressure or flow changes
A pressure rise from the clean starting reading may mean debris has collected. Persistent flow problems or debris returning to the pool need assessment beyond a cleaning schedule.

Diagnosis and written repair options
Cleaning and repair are separate jobs
Cleaning removes the debris collected by the filter. It cannot repair a torn cartridge, damaged DE grid or cracked component. During a cartridge or DE filter cleaning, we inspect the elements and look for holes, tears and worn O-rings. If damage is found, replacement parts need a separate quote and approval.
What a pressure reading can tell you
Compare the current pressure with the filter's clean starting reading under the same operating conditions. A rise can indicate that cleaning is due, but a pressure reading alone does not identify a failed part. Tell us about leaks, reduced flow or debris returning to the pool too. Do not open or tighten a filter while it is pressurized.
Choosing repair or replacement
The filter's model, age and condition matter when comparing options. Replacing damaged elements is different from replacing a tank or the whole filter. We explain the work recommended for your equipment, with parts and labor listed separately. Availability and timing are confirmed for the quoted repair.
