Ask which controller and additional components the plan needs. Motorized actuators move valves; not every installation needs the same set of hardware.
If phone control is selected, clarify the connection hardware, setup, account handover, and operating guidance included in the proposal.

Keep unconfirmed accessories out of the assumed scope until the actual models and requirements have been considered.
Decide what you want to do at the equipment panel and what you want to do through an app. The selected system determines which functions are available. If phone access is part of the proposal, ask what connection hardware, setup, and owner account handover are included. Also ask how the scheduled functions will be set and what operating guidance you will receive. Do not assume that installing a panel includes every network change or accessory you might need.
A schedule can manage when compatible equipment runs; it does not brush the pool, clean a filter, or replace water testing. Keep the maintenance plan separate from the automation installation. If lower energy use is one of your goals, compare the actual equipment and intended operation rather than assuming a savings percentage from automation alone.
